Planning approval was obtained in 2020 for a modest extension to this stone cottage which has seen many alterations over time. The proposals seek to consolidate a series of existing smaller spaces to create a more sociable kitchen/dining space with better connection to the garden. Retaining natural light into the property and framing views out were key to the concept of the design. A new entrance makes good use of an existing garage, providing a utility and downstairs bathroom.
The choice of materials aims to provide clarity between new and existing whilst making reference to vernacular buildings in the area.
